Chinese New Year/ Lunar New Year

This week

I think I'll have less friends while CNA is still on. I don't want to be having lung cancer or something like many of the unfortunate friends of Ashley has contracted, or to be the victim of some sort of corruption, or even be the spotlight by being misunderstood as one of those fathers staying home to take care of children.

It is sad to know that so many people so close to us are suffering. English Oral Examiners must have felt much more emotional as they listen to the tragedies of the thousands of students in Singapore during their O' Level oral examination.

Some things that happened today.

"This cannot be! We didn't win?"

"What the..."

*Some venting of anger through shouting and violence towards tables and chairs"

"Wah lao!"

"Stupid sia."

"The judge got problem lah."

And it took awhile for the comments and grumbles to stop.

Okay, so we didn't win the CNY deco. Like I had quoted Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, "I am deeply convinced that the biggest disappointments are born out of big expectations" as he cautioned people on the unrealistic hope of americans have on US President Obama.

However, one setback shouldn't stop us. Let us move on as we celebrate Lunar New Year, a new beginning.
